Install

curl -s -S -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/openhoangnc/sift/main/scripts/install.sh | sh -s -- -v
Sift project card: network-wide ad and tracker blocker, one 10 MB binary with a web interface

Point your router or your devices at Sift and every DNS query on the network goes through the filter lists you subscribe to. It is a single static binary of about 10 MB (or a 57 MB container image) and runs on anything from a Raspberry Pi upward.

Features

  • Serves plain DNS, DNS-over-TLS, DNS-over-HTTPS, DNS-over-QUIC and HTTP/3
  • Per-client settings, a query log and statistics
  • Its own web interface, written for the project in React and TypeScript

Drop-in replacement for AdGuard Home

Sift reads and writes the same AdGuardHome.yaml, query log, stats.db and sessions as AdGuard Home v0.107.79, serves the same control API and ships with the same container contract. It can take over an existing installation in place and hand it back without changing a file.

Sift is not produced, endorsed or supported by AdGuard.

After installing

Open http://<this machine>:3000 and follow the setup wizard. Running the install command again upgrades in place.
